YCKF Description
The York City Knights Foundation (YCKF) is a registered charity (no 1112571) that promotes community participation in sport and physical activity.
The YCKF provides and assists in facilities for sport, physical activity and health and social inclusion. We support children and young adults and the general public regardless to; age, gender, sexuality,disability and socioeconomic status. The YCKF considers the interest of social welfare to improve the quality of life. The Foundation advances the education of children and young people through; assembly programmes, initiative delivery on sport, dance and physical activity, obesity and other health related issues, team building, life skills, sports volunteering education courses, and volunteer recruitment. We utilise expert knowledge, skills, training, development and education associated with sport, health and physical activity to ensure quality and sustainability of our programmes. The YCKF strives to create a lasting legacy on the future generation of sport, health and physical activity in York and North Yorkshire.
The foundation will aim to provide and deliver a range of services and activities for the benefit of the community. The foundation will draw upon the knights profile and authority to achieve its objectives.
The foundation will, through its activities, explore new ways of supporting learning development.

- To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for the playing of rugby and other sports (“facilities” in this clause [ ] means land, buildings, equipment and organising sporting activities).
- To provide and assist in providing facilities for sport, recreation or other leisure time occupation of such persons who have need for such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty of social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life; and
- To advance the education of children and young people through such means as the trustees think fit in accordance with the law of charity.
- Protecting and preserving the health of young people in such charitable ways at the trustees see fit.
- Providing or assisting in the provision of courses, lectures, demonstrations and coaching for teachers who organise or supervise playing or coaching rugby league and such other games or sports.
